Getting so frustrated... got the new iTunes version installed, downloaded the update, but now haven't been able to get my phone updated for the last few days.
I plug in phone, say 'update' when the message comes up saying there is a new update, backup starts, with 'Backing up My iPhone,' and the little green bar goes around for a minute or two, and then it stops. The bar is just white with no progress. I've left it like that for a couple of hours and no change.
A couple of times I've also gotten a -5000 error message that if I continue everything on the phone will be deleted (I chose not to continue at that point).
I think it's possible that maybe I've messed something up - when nothing has happened after a number of hours with not even the green bar showing that something's happening, I've tried to 'stop' the backup, but then it just freezes at 'canceling backup' and I've had to shut down itunes from Task Manager. I'm not sure if that's confused either the phone or iTunes enough that now I can't update.
Would love to get this update done this weekend...anyone have any ideas?
