I posted last week, when, after upgrading to 10.4.9 on my iMac 20 inch, my external USB Seagate disappeared. Thanks for all the help, but nothing worked to get it seen.

I ended up taking the drive to CompUSA and tried it on some 10.4.8 macs (iMac, MBP) there, and sure 'nuff, it was there.

So, I finally had some time last night, and I did a CLEAN install (10.4.7)- I could see my USB again. I tried the full upgrades... and NO other changes- did not even move the mouse!- and the drive disappeared again! So there is something there in 4.9 that is not right I guess.

So, any way to uninstall the 10.4.9 upgrade, or am I looking at another full install tonight? Also, is it possible for me to get the 10.4.8 upgrade somewhere (a link would be super cool!)

Thanks!

Dave

Unfortunately you can't go back to 10.4.8 from 10.4.9 without the full reinstall. However, polevault139's links above will help you get back to 10.4.8 from 10.4.7. :)
