Been to family gathering for 3 days and 2 nights. Didn't bring charger along. Turned out I didn't have to. The battery when I was back was at 33%.

Used it usually, web browsing, email, movie watching, LOTS of YouTube and be here at macrumors every day. The MBA is almost a year old and sometimes you just don't think about it too much until thing like this happens. My old MBA would be dead the 1st morning.

Best laptop I've ever owned.

As a bonus, I'm starting to love Tab Group in Safari 15. You can change what topic you're browsing on a whim. Such a great feature. (it'd be even greater if it sync with my iOS devices but currently it's not)

I gifted my 2020 12.9 IPP to a family member for the M1 Air, and I’m so happy that I did! The IPP is very nice, but the MBA is even better, and I am not restricted on what programs that I use to the same extent as with the IPP.

MBA is an iPad that's actually a computer, and that's a good thing!

I still remember when looking to buy a new Mac laptop sometime this year to replace my late 2009 white MacBook as my main laptop that can run the newest versions of the MacOS, I had initially planned to get one of the higher-end 13" Intel MacBook Pros, since at the time I wasn't entirely sure of the Apple Silicon Macs, and I thought I'd wait until 2022 when I replace my mid-2012 quad-core i7 Mac Mini with a new Apple Silicon desktop (I needed to get a new Mac laptop first, as I already mentioned). But as time went on I heard how they were so much faster and more powerful than their Intel model predecessors, and as I heard third-party software support for Apple Silicon Macs was increasing, even as I type this, along with the ability to run iOS apps (even emulate a Windows XP machine via UTM for running some old PC games from my childhood), the likely dwindling support for Intel Macs, and the aforementioned better speed and power, I figured I may as well take the plunge and get an M1 Mac laptop! Initially I had my eyes set on the MacBook Pro, as I do a lot of digital media work (especially audio and video) and like to multitask. But when I heard that the M1 MacBook Air was almost as powerful as the M1 Pro (compared to the Intel versions), and seeing that it'd cost a little less and I wouldn't need to deal with the Touch Bar, I opted for the Air! I ordered the Silver version, with 8-core graphics and 512 GB SSD and the memory configured to 16 GB, and I was just blown away by the amazing speed and processing power once I got it. Especially with how rendering/exporting a video on Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro only takes a third of the time it does on my i7 Mac Mini! It's currently my most powerful Mac on hand, AND my thinnest and lightest!

It's even thinner and lighter than the 1st-gen MacBook Airs!

I replaced my iPad Pro 12.9 with the M1 MacBook Air and have not regretted it for a second. It's basically what I've always wished the MBA could be. Previous models always had the good looks and amazing portability. The M1 seems to have infinite power and battery life.

I've said before--I almost get annoyed when I have to charge it. It's just something I've stopped thinking about, so when it becomes an issue it can feel like a show-stopper. ?

I don't use FCP but convert video files with Handbrake is SO MUCH faster!!
