Hi, is it correct that in order to be able to upgrade the firmware on my MP5.1 which runs open-core BigSur, I have to:
- create a highsierra installer
- startup with high-sierra
- then upgrade to mojave
- follow the instructions to upgrade the firmware

However creating a highsierra installer using the available instructions, gives a 'command not found' problem in the terminal:

sudo: /Applications/Install macOS High Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia: command not found

Is there any other way to upgrade the firmware or better instructions to create the highsierra installer?
Does open-core help in upgrading the firmware?

what I have in Applications is the .pkg file. Is that correct or should I do something with that?

Thanks for helping!
Slowly progressing now. usb installer working fine. One challenge left: my hd7950 gpu doesn't seem to be able to get flashed.
Is it possible to install the Mojave firmware upgrade with a metal supported gpu that is not mac-edition or flashed?

or don't even try?

Yes, for the Mojave firmware upgrade, the METAL GPU do not need to be Mac EFI flashed. The problem is for the High Sierra firmware upgrade, you need a Mac EFI one and not a METAL one.

It's a two steps firmware upgrade if you have a EFI release earlier than MP51.0089.B00. Read the first post here:
