So here are my still unanswered questions less than one week from launch.

i've been looking around, but I haven't been able to find anyone asking this:

1. Will the iPhone have an "Enable disk use" option like current ipods?

2. If so, will locally stored html or pdf files (or Word, for that matter) be accessible to Safari? In other words, will you be able to browse local files from the Safari address bar?

3. The new video shows PDF and Word files being read from the iPhone Mail app. If PDF files are on he iPhone internal memory, will there be a method for navigating to and viewing those outside of the Mail app?

4. Will the Notes app sync to anything on the Mac (or PC) desktop? Or will they just be available as files in a folder mounted on the desktop, as Notes are currently with the iPod?

5. Will the Notes app be able to read PDF or Word files stored locally?

I ask all this because I've given up on my Palm and I'd really like to have some basic reader functionality on the iPhone. I don't care if it has to be through Safari (in lieu of a proper Finder-type app) but would like to be able to access documents stored locally on the iPhone's memory.

1. No one knows (guessing yes)
2. No one knows (guessing no)
3. No one knows (guessing no)
4. No one knows (guessing no)
5. No one knows (guessing not, in OSX its a database - no individual files)

Aloha everyone,

Here's a couple more. I realize that the iPhone can use both the Edge network and WiFi, but which one is the default? The Edge network is PAINFULLY shower than WiFi, but the language in the commercials thus far seems to indicate that Edge is the default, and that WiFi is used when the Edge network is unavailable. I don't know if anyone has any information on the wireless side, but I would much rather be able to use WiFi as the default.

What does anyone think about the possibility of future upgrades to the hardware? Not as in will future iPhones have more capability, but whether we can take our iPhones into an Apple store and have them install more memory once flash memory prices come down and 16/32GB capacity is possible.

I'm giving my wife my 30GB 5G iPod once I get the iPhone so the 8GB capacity is almost 4 times less than what I enjoy now, but I really don't listen to all of that content all of the time. I do listen to a lot of podcasts, but as they aren't video podcasts, I really can't see them taking up too much room.

From what I have read the iPhone will use wifi when available, and default to EDGE when it is not.

My guess is no to all accounts. I have reasons to believe that is so because of what I sense is Apple's strategy withthe iPhone. I could give a long rant about why I think so, but I am lazy and rather wait 5 more days to see if I am right.
