still universal binary for windows applacations ?

~Hi there i was wondering , i have a intel mac pro , the qestion i have is, if i install windows xp on it , would normal windows software ,run on a windows on the intel .


The reason i ask is i am finding it hard to get the software plug ins i need as they are not ready for intel mac universal binary , so i thought mybe if i put windows on, i can use my normal windows software .

But i am worried that it sounds too easy , and that mybe i would still need to get new vesions with universall binary even for windows

Universal Binary only applies to Mac apps. Windows apps run just fine.

If you have installed Windows on your Mac Pro then it will run exactly the same software as any other PC running Windows. Universal binaries are only relevant to old Mac software that used to only run on Power PC Macs. The Universal app means that the program will run 100% natively on Intel and PPC Macs. Non-universal apps run on Intel Macs via Rosetta which emulates a PPC environment.

Running Windows shouldn't affect Mac OS X's performance, assuming you're using Boot Camp. If you're using Parallels, then yes, Mac OS X will be slower while Parallels is running - this is normal with virtualization/emulation software.

Only slightly slower. You really shouldn't notice a slowdown in OS X unless your running either a LOT of applications, or a real performance hog like Photoshop at the same time.
