It says they will notify you by email when it is available to order. It is not available to order yet, hence no email.

I believe it says "Get the latest news about iPad delivered to your inbox. Just enter in your email address in the box to the right."

Nothing specific about when it will be available to order, but rather news. I count the announcement on the preorder date and launch date as some pretty important news. Don't cha think so?

Hmm looks like you're correct...they must have changed the text at some point. *shrug*
