Same at MacMall. Amazing Apple is sending so many to resellers before their customer orders are filled.

Amazing or infuriating? Why they would worry about stocking random retailers before their loyal first adopters is beyond me, granted its just stock models - but why waste any capacity and force one of their most vocal customer bases to wait even a minescule bit longer? Im sure im just arm chair quaterbacking and there could be forces at work that Im unaware of but its nonetheless frustrating when stairing at a nebulous febuary ship date day after day.

Maybe there is no priority between retail orders and customer orders. Or just that a certain amount have been set aside for retail distribution as they need to get the word out (from a marketing point) as fast as possible. Momentum and all that.

Either way, if the retailers start getting custom Mac Pro's before I get my 'pre-order' then I will be a little bit peeved.

I thought most people who ordered stock units on opening night have already received theirs? Maybe not in other countries, but in the US? If so, why not go ahead and send some stock units out to retailers? I mean, they probably put in for their allotment early as well.....don't they deserve to make a living too?

Clearly says "coming soon" at the top

It was in stock when I linked it. B&H is now pre-order too.

It's quite likely that retailers are getting a certain percentage off the production line.

As annoying as it is for those with pre-orders, the retailers would be equally peeved if they didn't receive any stock in the first 3 months. Apple needs them happy too.
