Stolen iPad?

I had my MacBook and my iPod touch stolen from me last year, so I'm wondering, is there any free way to have my iPad on a GPS so if it is stolen, I can track it from my Mac Pro or iPod touch?

I don't know about free, but if you get the 3G iPad and mobile me, you can use find my iPhone to track down your iPad, remote lock it, remote wipe it, or play a sound and display a message on it's screen.

Mobile me is cheaper when baught with an iPad, or you can find it cheap on sites like amazon
