Stolen macbook air/icloud tracking?

So I had my gear along with my 2011 macbook air stolen in July. Assuming the jerk off who stole my gear updates to the latest OS update and goes onto iCloud, do you guys think that there is a way for me to track down my stolen laptop? At this point, the only thing I had on it would be the serial number as the computer was already out of my hands before I could update it to iCloud (obviously).

I'm afraid not, unless you also gave him your AppleID username/password to type into the iCloud control panel.

If you registered your laptop, and the person who stole it is using your registration details, you could trace the ip, also he may slip up if you left cookies enabled, he may login to facebook, thus giving you his location, same with hotmail, gmail etc.
