Stood in line at best buy, shipment is late...

I waited in line in the cold at my local best buy, no apple store here in Amarillo Texas.

They opened at 9, then decided to tell us they don't have any yet. They hope to get them later today, and gave out 10 pre sale tickets per model.

Way to mess it up UPS!!!

Same happened at the store I'm
at right now, though it's not a Best Buy, Im Aran independent Apple store. They have a sign on the door that says they did nog get their shipment yesterday and are expecting if today. They open at 9am while Best Buy (which is .5 miles down the road opens at 10am) so I'm goingto wait here first and see what happens then I will go to Best Buy and try there.

At least you got a pre sale ticket so it wasn't a complete loss waiting in the cold.

Stopped back by the Best Buy and they got their shipment at 6:45am. I'm back over at the independent Mac store and still nothing here but we'll see.

Yeah, I was first in line at my local Best Buy. They only had 16 and 32gb models, but they had a lot of them, probably 25 of each (and this is Bangor, ME, by the way, not a big place.) So, I was like, "I want a 64gb, where are they?"
Them: "Dunno, not here yet. Gonna be here today maybe."
Me: "Okay. So...?"
Them: "We'll give you a ticket for a 64gb and we'll call you when we get them in."
Me: "Okay." Then I stuck around and played with the demo and whatnot, and they got the 64gb in at around 10:45, so I only waited for 45 minutes, not bad. But still, should have had them all, I think. They said they would, they didn't. Upsetting.

And my one from Apple will be here Monday and I've already got a buyer lined up. Booyah.

Same thing happened at my Best Buy for the 3GS. They arrived about 45 mins late.

My store didn't have them when they opened at 10:00 AM. We went inside to pre-pay (there were 7 of us) and by the time I got outside and got in my car, it was 10:15. They said they would call them when they came in (no later than 5:00 PM today). As I was pulling out of the parking lot, the UPS guy was pulling in, so I immediately did a U-turn and went back inside. And the UPS guy brought the wonderful magic boxes inside!! It was overall the best customer service I've ever had at Best Buy and that's coming from someone who can't stand Best Buy for the most part. Everyone was extremely nice and apologetic for them being late.

i just picked mine up at best buy....only 5 of us waiting and they received 45! 15 of each model.

No cases though

Mine opened at 10am here in the midwest, they got 15- 5 of each.. Shipment was supposed to be late (5pm), but sure enough they Brown Truck came on time!
