Stop Apple ID Verification

I can not get this verification message to stop popping up every 30 sec. it is for an old email address not used any longer. Won't accept old password. Just started 2 days ago. How can I stop it? Have the latest update and have already rebooted twice.

[doublepost=1477062558][/doublepost]As far as I can see in SETTINGS this email account is no longer associated with either the iTunes or iCloud. I can't even use my phone for more than 17 seconds before it pops up.
