So, I sold my original 32GB WiFi awhile back to someone in Ireland. Was holding off buying another til I landed a job.

That time has come and while out today, I decided to see what Best Buy had. They had a 32GB 3G, I figured I would pick it up. I head home, worked on my scooter a bit (maybe an hour), grabbed the Best Buy gift card I got from my credit card points and my $10 reward zone certificate then headed to Best Buy.

I get there and ask for the 32GB 3G and alas there are none. Plenty of 64GB though! I called a few other stores nearby. They had 64GB models too, no 16 or 32GB.

Will you guys just buy the 64GB models and leave me a 16 or 32? Just think, you will be the kid on the block who has the best model! Isn't that worth it!

But, I know I don't need 64GB. I was so close to buying today, but I couldn't bring myself to blow the $100-$200 extra.

I don't need to be the cool kid. :D

Yup same here. Except im looking for the 16gb wifi only. Went to best buy today, and they only had the 64gb. Then i went to mac café and they had none what so ever. Im contemplating going to the Apple store (which of course is conveniently 2.5 hrs away. Yay for a 5 hr round trip of driving! :D

just get the 64GB ..i plan to just get the 32Gb
but ended up with a 64GB..im glad i did:)

Not sure what you plan on doing with yours, but I have about 20GB left on my 64GB iPad.

I don't plan to put music on it. Or video (stream most of it from my server).

I basically read some technical PDFs, remote into my machines and servers at work, browse the web and whatever else I can add to make my job easier.

A little app development too, but nothing too serious yet.

This guy has the 16g. Bigge doesn't always mean better. I'm not lazy. I can walk to my Mac if I need to offload and free up memory.

I went 32 and have a TON of room left...one tiny playlist and my most important "others will want to see these" pictures. The rest of that space is meant for books! Which is the reason I bought mine. Honestly, I can't imagine the iPad replacing my iPod Touch for music. Way to big and I don't want it falling off the seat in the car or something crazy.

I bought the 64 thinking it may become useful in the future should new apps use the space for this stuff. Think iMovie... So far, I've really only needed about 20GB.

16GB WiFi is the sweet spot, personally. Pre-launch I originally wanted a 32GB 3G, but given my experiences over the last couple of weeks I think that would have been overkill on both counts. I've barely needed to use 3G and my 16GB still has around 11-12GB left.

Agree. 16gb WiFi works just great for me. I still have 12 left.
I use the Touch or Nano for music and don't see the point in having thousands of photos on the iPad.

I ordered my 16G on June 1 and sold my 16W on ebay this past wednesday to finance it once it goes into shipping status :D

Never mind the kids. They could give Paris Hilton a lesson on how to squander money. I didn't realize there were so many trust fundies here. Lucky their trustees didn't invest in Lehman or Bear. :D

I had the same problem about a week ago when I was looking for a 16 gig wifi. I checked every store within 50 miles of Dallas, a major city. No luck.

Seems like most stores were getting them in on Mondays and selling out pretty quick. Ordering one online said it would take 3 weeks.

I ended up just reserving one at my closest apple store and it only took about 3 days. I freaking love it. I already have my 32gig 3GS loaded with all my music so my iPad just needed space for some videos and the apps. I'm not hurting for space. I don't know what someone would fill up 64 gigs with.

I find the iPad the BEST way to view photos myself and especially to share with other, be it for personal or professional reasons. Having thousands of photos on the iPad was one of the several key reasons I knew I had to have one.

I completely agree about music though. I've used it to play a song to demonstrate a tempo for my musical director without the need for earphones, a relatively minor convenience made possible by the speaker, but never actually use it as an iPod.

I do like to store a ton of video content on it though. I take as many as a dozen 14-hour flights a year, where I can watch up to 5 movies per flight, and I love having a nice selection to choose from depending on my mood.

64 was definitely the righth choice for me.

I bet this thing is a plane ride must have.

You an average user can't justify the extra 32gb but you expect others to?

Flawless logic :D

I thought I really needed a 64gb too, but after using a 16gb model for a bit before hawking it for a retarded profit I decided when I pick up the iPad gen 2 32gb will be the sweet spot for me.

It was just a friendly request. I didn't say it made sense!

I ended up with the 64GB. I am sure I will find a use for it. I found a use for 8TBs.

Just poking fun at you man, no malice

oh my god 8tbs AND a 64gb iPad..... I guess you could always triple back up all the data you own :D:D

You could never be too safe.

I'll sell you my 16GB iPad if you want one so badly.

No thanks. I will stick with the 64GB.

Oh no, I didn't think anything of it. You were spot on!

Yeah, I have about 300GBs left on my 8TBs of storage. The iPad is nothing but a plankton in this sea of bits.

Originally, ordered 32GB 3g thru Apple online. After a few days of thinking while waiting for it to be shipped, changed my mind, and found one at BestBuy. After 32GB to 64GB for another $100, I just feel safer and more satisfied with the fact that I've covered another "just in case" senario. I'd rather have some space that I won't use rather finding myself trying to figure out what to delete to make room "just in case".

With the same token, I signed up "unlimited", although I prefer my Wifi connection because of those "just in case" senarios.

I thought I wanted a 32GB 3G iPad, but after having “settled” for the 16GB WiFi at launch, i find the iPad, in terms of function and my use of it, to be worth exactly $499 and (discounting sales tax) not a penny more or less. :)
