Stop finding files in Trash!

Hi Community. This is my first time post.
I'm still running 10.8.5. I honestly like it.

I'm using Ableton Live, but I'm sure this problem may occur to many other kinds of programs.

When I delete files from the finder, I would like to know that these files will no longer be referenced by ANY software once they are in the trash. I think that trash can be like a quarantine area. So I delete files I think I don't use. Open the program which might have referenced them, and if it's not missing content, then VOILA! I can delete the trashed files without hurting myself.

As it stands these files are still available to the software, and I don't know if they are delete-able until they are completely off the machine.
Anybody else think this is ridiculous?

After you put files into trash, click on secure empty trash instead of just empty trash.

1. Are you sure the applications are not creating these files because it cannot find them where they belong?

2. Are you Restarting the computer, or just the applications?

3. So move them to an external drive, and go ahead and delete them for your test.

Thanks. This is the best solution so far. Ableton always makes an analysis file called an .als.
Perhaps this file has been updated with the location (trash) of the missing files.
