Hi..

i m new on Mac.... and i just cant figure out how to adjust the settings so that i dont get a new window for every subfolder i access... Can i just use the back and front button on the folder instead of opening a new window?

Anyone?

Switch to Finder, press cmd+, to access Finder preferences and under the general tab deselect the 'Always open folders in a new window' option.

While it looks like your problem is solved sometime there are times when having multiple Finder windows open is useful. There is a nice little app called TotalFinder that creates tabs in a Finder window just like a browser does. It's not free but they do have a free test if you want to try it out and see if it's right for you or not.
