Stopping Use of iCloud Photo Library

I uploaded all my photos on my Mac to iCloud Photo Library. I selected the option to keep the full resolution versions of my photos on my mac. If I now choose not to use iCloud Photo Library do I have to download from iCloud to my Mac to have the full-resolution versions on my mac. I wouldn't think so, but I want to make sure.

You would not have to re-download those photos, since the full sized originals are still on your Mac.

Make sure you have a recent Mac backup before flipping that switch.
