Storage advice for pics

My wife and I have close to 30 gigs of pics including a ton of our professional wedding pics currently on our desktop computer.

The PC is slowly on its way out and I want to get them off the hard drive before it crashes for good.

What is a good place to store these? I was thinking of Google Drive as it is very reasonable for pricing. I was also thinking of having a second backup such as a USB drive.

Is Google Drive the most reliable? I know Apple has storage but it's fairly costly.

I have all of my newly created photos automatically backed up in a number of places (Dropbox, Google+) and keep a backup of my entire library on both a Time Capsule and NAS (via Time Machine on my Mac). I wanted an off site backup for my library (approximately 70GB of photos/video) and ultimately decided to back up to Flickr, as they offer 1TB of free storage.

Man, print those wedding pictures! They belong in a photo album, NOT on a hard drive!

Get a 350GB external drive, and then use some online storage. I think 1 TB is overkill, especially when most fail within a year at this point. Stick to the smaller 350-500GB for that reason.

I've used Flickr since 2005, yes they're safe.

I have all my photos and vids on phanfare. $99 a year. All of them on my external drive. And all of them backuped again on a external drive unplugged from mac.

For Backup, to be safe, store in three places.
1. Hard Drive, being our primary store
2. External Hard Device for backup in home
3. Offsite. Cloud storage seems logical here, but as there is > 30GB worth of media that might be impractical.

Flickr seems like the best option as it provides 1TB of storage now and of course you can share to friends and family from there too.

I will echo what others have said with regards to a small external drive. 500gb external drives are cheap.

Or, get a 64gb micro sd card for less than $50.

Additionally, if you buy Google devices like a Chromebook, you get free storage. I currently have 175gb of free Google Drive storage. I bought a Moto X and got 50gb. I bought a Chromebook and got 100gb of free storage. Downloaded Quickoffice when it came out and got 10gb. Google Drive is really the way to go.

I highly recommend that as a second backup. 64gb is only around $40. Better safe than sorry.

With pictures I wouldn't mess around.

I'm not photographer but I have engineering drawings that I would cry if I lost.

I use copy (cloud storage), two external drives, my personal nas and my dads nas will sync to each others. I lost a solidworks project when I was freshman and had to start over! Never again

Now, I recommend Copy because you get 20gb free (email me or send me a pm) plus 250gb for $100 year plus external drive that syncs to your copy folder.

You can upload anything not just photos also.
