Hi there,

I'm trying to find some (reasonably attractive) furniture that would hold 1-2 Mac Pros. Flexible budget, but the room is green and white, sort of 60s International style.

Ideally it would have
  • a front cabinet door, soft close
  • rear cable access
  • reasonable airflow to prevent overheating
  • another cabinet above/below that could hold a UPS, a Drobo Pro, some other things
  • a top space that could stabily support a printer

Casters or adjustable legs are a bonus, but not important.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Jessica: thanks for finding that, it's not quite what I'm looking for.

I'm hoping for something that can be next to/under a desk, than a desk itself.

WRT housing Mac Pros in a cabinet, media centres can handle the weight/airflow for cooling requirements, but they are generally too large (and specifically, too wide).

I guess what I'm looking for may simply be too unusual a request to have an off-the-shelf solution.

Still, if there are any other ideas, I'd love to hear them.

yeah I think Ikea has something. I will look for a link. found link

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20049350

all of these have doors that can be added to. i think they have a few colors and you can drill a few holes in the back panels for air and wires here is 24 by 24 by 31 high
here is one in white with some options added

needs a top and a door but you get the idea it is 36 dollars

It's a good idea, and I'm looking at "custom" modular options.

As our budget is a bit more flexible, are there any options you'd take over the Ikea one (with it's rather recognisable origin)? I am looking for contemporary furniture, but Ikea is a ... backup.

Thanks again,
