I've got a 16gb iPhone 6 and i'm constantly getting a 'storage full' message appearing on the screen. When I go to settings>general>usage, it says ive used 12GB and have 0 bytes available (I presume the operating system takes up 4GB of the phones storage). I've got 7 songs, 119 photos, 5 videos and 27 apps. I've got friends with a lot more photos/videos/music/apps than I have on my phone (also 16GB) yet they seem to have GB of storage still available. I'm at the point where I can't even take a photo or even open a Snapchat. It may be something simple, and i'm just being stupid, but I thought i'd see if anyone had any solutions or information on here before I take it back to the store. Thanks a lot.

Videos, apps, songs are of different sizes so it means nothing that your friend has more videos or songs.

I think i've found out why it's apparently used up. On settings>general>about, it says i've got 61 videos, but on the camera roll, it says i've got 5 videos. Where could the other 56 videos be apart from my camera roll?

Check the stock video application. They would be syncing through iTunes. In addition, try using PhoneClean or a similar app that erases app caches. This could free up hundreds of MB if not GB. FaceBook, Yelp and Instagram are notorious for storing large amounts of cache. Also, a simple restart could clear cache in the background too.

I've stopped the syncing of the 2 music videos and 1 TV show from iTunes and I can't download any apps because I dont have enough space:confused:

PhoneClean is a computer program, but you can also delete some apps or songs, or transfer your photos/videos onto your computer to free up space. SnapChat is also another app that stores a lot of cache. You can view this by going to Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage. Click on the specific app and it will tell you how much is being used for documents and data. The SnapChat app is only about 50MB in size, if you see it any larger than that, thats all cache which can be cleared by the methods I have already stated.

It's only 54.3MB which is similar to yours. I really don't understand how on general>about it says i've got 61 videos but ive only got 5 in my camera roll.

Empty your recently deleted folder in Photos? If there is anything in there, it counts as storage.

Check the photos app for recently deleted items. The phone will hold them for 30 days.

This is the case for my wife's 16gb phone. I don't understand why it's always full. She doesn't have 10+ gb of photos/apps.

My friend was telling me it may be something to do with the syncing of Documents & Data on iCloud or something? Anyone hear of this?
