Dropbox filled my hard drive recently, so I went in and used Smart Sync and removed all dupes and moved all large files to my external drive, but I'm still having a problem.

I have reasonable numbers showing up in Documents, Apps, and System, but the OTHER section shows as 813.97 GB.

Where might I find files that are registered here as OTHER?

How do I make sure that 813.97 GB reflects the correct amount of storage in OTHER?

Well, it turns out that the OTHER files -- that very long grey thing on the graph on the top drive -- was some sort of hiccup with Carbonite. It had accumulated more than 1 TB of logs, all dated within 5 days.

Carbonite has been nothing but a butt pain for me over the last 5 years, spanning over 3 different computers. I'm through with it entirely and looking for a new remote backup program.

Try BackBlaze. Unlimited backup, including external drives (like my 9TB RAID array). Works seamlessly. I've used it for the last four years and recovered files a number of times. I have no connection to the company other than being a very satisfied customer.

I'll check it out this afternoon! Thank you.
