I just received delivery of a brand new Apple Studio Display from Abt, my favorite local Chicago area retailer. The display was hand-delivered and the box is pristine. I noticed, however, that the label on the box that shows the date Abt received the item from Apple to their warehouse was a full year ago on 9/20/2022. Should I be concerned that the display was in their warehouse for a year? I'm not too familiar with shelf life of new displays. Any insights would be appreciated - thanks!

It’s been powered off and has no internal battery so I can’t think of anything that would lead to it of having a limited shelf life. You’ll have some firmware updates, but that should be it.

Wouldn't concern me at all. Enjoy the heck out of the ASD. Fantastic monitor worth every penny.

Exactly--no battery on the inside, nothing to worry about. If it were something like decades later, I'd say yeah, you should be worried about plastic components and solders breaking down and other problems that come with aging, but not from last year.
