Stored up system sounds when plugging in earphones

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this or not. It seems like since I upgraded to ML some of my sounds get "stored" up until I plug in my headphones into my computer (2008 Al Macbook). It seems to by Mail.app sounds that are getting stored. When I plug in my earphones to my computer I get hit with several new email and sending email sounds when I know for a fact that they shouldn't be there. I have Mail open full screen in a second desktop if that makes a difference. Just curious if anyone else is noticing this.

Yep, having the same issue (even after going to 10.8.1). This is on a RMBP.

seems to happen only after waking from sleep

Seems like sounds work normally until waking from sleep. I think it has something to do with "Power Nap" which is probably silencing all the notifications and sounds during sleep but they get triggered with the audio output is switched to the headphone jack.
