Stores completely sold out?

Was thinking of running down to the Apple Store on Michigan Ave. (Chicago), but seems like no one has any iPads in stock.

Is it now best to online order and wait the 7-10 days?

A lot of people order online and if they manage to get one before the order is shipped they cancel it. Even if you got an iPad in a store just as your online order shipped you can return it--or sell it at a small profit even.

Cover all your bases. Order online, reserve in store (no CC needed until you p/u), and also drop in stores in the interim to see if they have any stock.

Cancel the order that comes in 2nd.

You can get the wifi versions fast enough at the stores. I had a two day wait for mine. Got it on sat.

Got on the list and was able to pick it up the very next day. This was for a 32GB wifi at the Glendale CA store.
