Hi,
Ok, so I went to go and use my AppleTV lastnight to find that it had frozen....the menu was onscreen but it was completely locked up. So I power cycled the unit and everything started OK.
Then after about 1 minutes use the whole thing locks up again. So I power cyled it again. Next time the unit rebooted I saw the apple logo...after this the AppleTV produced a screen of white noise.
So after about 10 power cycles I finally managed to do a system restore to take the software back to it's native 1.0. All seemed Ok on reboot for about a minute or two...then I noticed random graphics errors, jumping text and the odd random white line on top of the menu.
I managed to do a software update to the latest software but this has not resoled the issue...the system still has graphics problems and hangs after about 1 minute of use. The unit cannot play video...it seems to play only 5fps and has no audio.
I have contacted Apple but they have said as it is 21 months old it is out of warranty and they will not offer any further help.
The unit has always been cared for and has remained on a dedicated AV rack (adequately cooled) for it's whole life.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do or what the problem might be and how I can resolve it?
Regards, Grazzyman.
