So I plugged in my iPhone today to charge it and walked away. I walked back about an hour later and it hadn’t charged at all. I plugged it in several times and nothing. It simply won’t charge. There is no lint or anything preventing blocking the connection between the cab,e and the contacts in the port. I can’t get an Apple genius appointment until Friday night. Ugh.

Try changing the cord. Blow out the lighting port on the phone.
I did that. Blew it out with compressed air and a tooth pick. Swapped out charger and cable and still no charging. Used the “bad cable and charger” on an old iPad that I don’t care about and it worked fine.

The lightning pork on my X has gone wonky too. Have to flip the cables several times. Thank fully im on iup.

MAYBE the USB Accessories switch being on. One of the possible symptoms.

If you don’t first unlock your password-protected iOS device—or you haven’t unlocked and connected it to a USB accessory within the past hour—your iOS device won’t communicate with the accessory or computer, and in some cases, it might not charge. You might also see an alert asking you to unlock your device to use accessories.

'lightning pork' made me giggle. What behavior is it exhibiting? won't charge or just finicky ?

Did you check to see if it was the outlet? Did you plug something else in there to check? Did a wire get loose? Did you check the breaker?

Sorry. I’m a construction superintendent. Comes naturally.

The same charger works on other devices and it’s working in the same receptacle outlet. Ive checked and swapped every variable. It must be my phone.

Do a hard reset of the phone. I just bought a used iPhone 7 for a friend and it wouldn’t charge or even be detected ona computer. Tried shutting it down and restarting it and that didn’t do solve it.

A hard reset (google how to do it based on your model) fixed the problem immediately.

Nope, that didn’t work either. Luckily the Qi wireless charging still works, so I can limp it along that way until my Apple appointment this weekend. I hope to God they swap it out for a new one. It’s still under Apple care so they should.
