It seems that my mac mini combo drive is failing . When i burn a disk all goes well until I eject the same disk and insert it again in my mac mini then it prompts me to eject the disc because it cannot read it.
What can be done ?
The mini reads disks burned on other computers but it does not read cd burned on it .
I am using Burn software on 10.4 tiger .
When I try to burn with toast it gives me the sense key = medium sense code = 0x73 0x03 error prompt .

Yes they can be read by cd players, but I think you are correct. Witth liquid cd I get another error- the device failed to calibrate laser power level for this media .

Replace current optical drive with new optical drive?

Before replacing, pull the optical drive out, take the cover off it, then blow out any dust and grit which may by causing faults at the laser mechanism.

It may spring back into full operation, or not.
