I had a strange experience with my MacBook Air rev B SSD this April fools day. I have been unable to find anything similar reported on the internet so I am sharing this in case anyone else had a similar experience.

My computer was logged in to the guest account, asleep by my bed, when about 7am the logo lit up for about 2 seconds, lighting up the whole room. My partner also noticed it. When I opened the computer, all the applications were missing. I thought this was odd, but since I didn't use the guest account for anything special, I just opened another guest account. My main account was normal.

The next day the applications were all back again.

I was worried that I might have had a mac virus or trojan or similar, but I have been unable to find any reports of any with this kind of behaviour.

I do not have antivirus software but have checked that I don't have the trojan that was with the pirated iWork09.

Any thoughts?

If it was only me i would have thought that might have been it, but my wife also noticed the light come on and couldn't find safari either. I think it might have been some kind of April fools day thing, and quite a clever one, I wouldn't know how to turn the apple light on while the computer was asleep if I tried...

It worries me because it means that perhaps my machine is not safe and I wonder what I should do about that.

Anyway, it seems like this has not been a common experience so I am none the wiser.
