My cd reader/burner is tripping. Post over on the Apple Discussions forums have fallen on deaf ears (lame).

If someone could just take a look at the Errors I have posted from the attached screenshots.

I have gone into my burn settings and tried to adjust manually the speed settings from automatic (default), to slower. Then the cd's sound like they are burning but then they spit out the cd with same errors come up :(

Is my my burner toast?

Thanks!

cheers and Happy New Year

A quick search pulled up a number of people with similar error messages. Fixes have included trying several brands of discs (which you say you've done), using a CD drive cleaning kit, and this bizarre fix that doesn't seem to have any bearing on disc burning but has worked for several people. (I wonder if it's just the restart that does it...have you tried that?)

Have you tried using another app (like say Toast or Disco) to burn a disc and see what happens? At least then you can either rule out the cause as either iTunes, or that your drive is toast.

Well my quick search yielded nothing... but OMG it seemed to have worked.

That was weird. I've surely got that one locked away for future use. :D

Computer responded differently but no burn still...

You guys pulling my chain here?

Seriously this is bad. I cant burn data, which really is a problem for my work...

Any other suggestions?

Should I do a hardware test off my install disc?
