Strange .file appear regularly

Every few days a series of folders appears on my computer. They are saved as .files, which I believes means that mac os does not know what they are.

I assume a .dmg file like the one you have selected is in every one of those folders? Where do these folders appear on your computer? Is there anything in the folders?

The way they're named makes me think they're cache files/folders.

The dmg file is not relevant, I think. it just happened to be in the trash when I took the screenshot after I updated and program and deleted the dmg for that. Sorry for the misleading information. The files seem to be created in the main hd, as separate folders, each with two files. I'm afraid to open them up but file info designates them as .file and does not know what application to use to open them. I do not have files now on my computer to try to open. What would you suggest I do when they next appear?

Have you solve this problem yet? My mac seems to have the same problem right now.
My download fold show up these .file file from last weekend.
If you have solved this problem,would you please tell me how to solve this. Thanks.

I have not solved this. However, when I attempted to download music from Spotiy I got similar files. I deleted and reinstalled Spotify but I am still getting them. Curiously, I am getting fewer, about 10, instead of 30 or 30.
