strange icon disappearing in Mountain Lion?! (screenshot below)

I've been experiencing this since I first installed Lion (10.7). If i select the errant icon, get info, then change an attribute (like checking then unchecking the stationery check box), the icon renders correctly.
Don't even bother with it
I've had nothing but strange problems since installing Lion from the app store. I did a bacup and restore clean install of Mountain Lion when it came out and (a couple of niggles aside) it already feels faster and more stable than lion. So, I would say just upgrade. If you don't want to do that have you tried repairing permissions?
