Hello everyone! I am having some strange happenings with a new Apple TV 2 I recently purchased. Let me give you a bit of background. I currently have 2 ATV2 in bedrooms hooked directly to TVs in those rooms via HDMI cables. In my main living room I had an ATV1. The ATV1 was hooked up via HDMI to my Yamaha receiver. With this set up, the ATV1 worked perfect, there were no issues. Last week I decided to purchase a new ATV2 to replace the ATV1 in my living room and that is when the issues started.

First off, I have some TV shows for my daughter that I have on my computer. These shows were encoded in Handbreak using the the ATV1 setting. They worked perfectly on my old ATV1 and the ATV2s. Now, however, the new ATV2 that I have connected to my receiver has all sorts of audio delay issues when watching these shows. I switched the ATV2s around and found out that any time I plugged any of my ATV2s into my receiver to watch these shows, there would be audio delay issues, so it's not like the new ATV2 was defective. Again, with my old ATV1, these shows worked perfectly, with no audio issues.

The second thing that happens is that my new ATV2 hooked up to the receiver completely looses audio at times now. Again, this never happened before and so far I have only been able to fix the problem by shutting everything down, unplugging the ATV2 and then powering everything back up.

Again, I did not have these problems when I had an ATV1 hooked up to my receiver, so obviously the problem is due to hooking an ATV2 up to my Yamaha receiver. Has anyone else experienced any issues like these and if so does anyone have any fixes? Thanks again for your time.

Well, I have found another strange issue with my the new ATV2. I had ripped a bunch of older movies a while ago to watch on my ATV1. Again, these movies always worked fine. When I tried playing them on my new, ATV2, again hooked up through the Yamaha receiver, I got no sound at all from them. I opened the file up on Subler and noticed that there was a check mark next to the "Surround" track, Track 3 in Subler. I unchecked that box, saved the file and viola, the movie now plays fine with audio through my ATV2. Is there anyone out there that can tell me why this works now and why I was able to play the file fine before on my older ATV? Very confused. Thanks.
