I;m getting a very strange time display from my macbook. Every now and then, the time is just way off. Like right now it is 23:34 (23rd of march)but a few minutes ago, it was displaying 0:28 (24th of march). Anyone else have had this? I have no idea what causes this...It happens every now and then so I don't know what is the cause.

First off, make sure you MacBook is up-to-date with Software Update...if you are in the US, make sure you got the Daylight Savings Time update.

Then, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Date & Time and make sure all the settings are correct there as far as how you want to set the time (automatically or manually) and the time zone, etc. If it continues to be a problem, try setting it to only adjust the time manually and see if the problem persists.

ya mine does that too

I downloaded all the updates too

I think it's because it's trying to sync with bootcamp, and bootcamp keeps the wrong time on my machine.

so when I boot into XP, it tells OS X the wrong time.

not sure what to do bout that either...

all i do is click on the time in os x, and the pref pane pops up, but as soon as it pops up, it just "fixes" itself and goes to the right time....odd

yeah it could be bootcamp. I read that somewhere else as well. Mine however, doesn't fix itself when you open the preference pane....well..guess I just shouldn't use XP too much. I normally don't use it anyway

The author had predicted such problems years ago. (He was probably thinking about Windows-Linux dual boot systems.) It is a yet-to-be-fixed bug with Windows:

It goes to show how "diligent" Microsoft is about real server issues. I think the recent meeting scheduling problems that happened around the new DST switch-over at our company were related.

BTW, here is an idea about how to work around this problem:
