Hi All,

First time poster here, just looking for some advice.

I just noticed some weird blacks marks on my iMac 27" screen and i have no idea what they are. Are they possibly dead pixels or burn in marks? Here is an image, sorry for the poor quality.

I have never noticed it before until this evening. The marks are only visible when you are looking straight on at the screen, at an angle you cant see them. I only turned on my iMac for the first time in 2 months yesterday as I don't use it that much which is why i was quite surprised when i saw the marks and thought it couldn't be dead pixels surely. Looking closely at them it seems like its behind the screen, typically i didn't take out the extra apple care, nearly 2 years old now. Will be sure to take it out on my new macbook though!

Appreciate any thoughts to what it is, im guessing if i was to take it to apple to get repaired its going to cost a fair wack!

I wonder if they're the remnants of some sort of bug - not software bug, an actual bug!

Prolific podcaster Jason Snell had an iMac a few months ago which got a spider trapped between the glass and the screen, necessitating a screen repair to clean it out.

Something that must be very rare due to the difficulty of anything getting in such a narrow gap, but it has happened.
