When running an AI model, I hear strange bursts of "crackling" noise coming from the machine. It's not a constant cracking. Very strange.

It's not the CPU because when I run Geekbench, the machine is quiet.

I tested out WoW on maximum graphics, but there is no crackling also.

Anyone knows what this is?

I loaded the same AI model on my M2 MacBook Air and it does the same ****, but less loud, probably because it is a smaller chip.

So it seems that these Apple Silicon chips are simply noisy themselves under heavy load.

Sounds like it might some sort of form of coil whine. Not much that you can do about it - if that's what it is

Could be a bug that affects the speakers. Try it again with the volume all the way down.
I’ve read people having popping sounds on their 16in speakers when doing certain tasks, may be that.
