I feel a bit like an old man for getting this heavily confused, but I have the "boop" notification sound configured on my Mac under the Sound settings in System Preferences, but about 1 in every 10 times, the notification sound is a sonar-like "blip" sound that doesn't match anything under "Alert sound" dropdown menu. Some apps like Apple Weather seem to have a 100% chance of playing this noise when a forecast notification pops up. I managed to finally catch it as it was happening via a Loopback audio capture, attached below.
Does anyone recognize what the heck this could possibly be? It only started in macOS Sonoma. I'm trying to figure out if there's something I accidentally configured like an Accessibility option for extra auto prompts that are somehow overriding my default notification noise with something else. I can also try to capture a system log via the Console app if that helps.
