Hello. I was just veryfying some port configurations using netstat. But then I came upon the following connections:

cuquita:~ jmunoz$ netstat -a | grep ipulse
tcp4 0 0 cuquita.local.ipulse-i cuquita.local.49159 ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 cuquita.local.49159 cuquita.local.ipulse-i ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 cuquita.local.ipulse-i cuquita.local.49158 ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 cuquita.local.49158 cuquita.local.ipulse-i ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 cuquita.local.ipulse-i cuquita.local.49157 ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 cuquita.local.49157 cuquita.local.ipulse-i ESTABLISHED
tcp4 0 0 *.ipulse-ics *.* LISTEN

These ipulse-ics connections are on port 20222 I don't remember having seen these before.

I did a Google Search on this, but found nothing particularly interesting nor helpful.

Any thoughts on this?

Thank you!

EDIT: I found some notes talking about OpenBase. I remember that name from when I installed the Tiger Dev Tools. But, why is this open? Should I shut it down? How?

Right, it's part of the WebObjects kit. The ports are for the development database server.

Oh yeah, about security: You can launch Applications:OpenBase:OpenBaseManager, and from the Manu pick OpenBaseManager->Local Preferences->Local Host Settings... In there, you can uncheck Network Access Allowed, and also set passwords if you like.
