Hi all,
Every few hours I notice a strange siren type noise, its is fairly low volume and it doesnt come from the speakers. The noise kinda sounds like a police siren and goes on for about 2-5 seconds. It is running OS X 10.3.9. I am just curious what this noise is and what it means.

There are also some other strange things going on with my powermac, such as:
It takes a long time for the video card to send a video signal to the monitor while starting up, the screen is black until the login screen shows up.
There is also no startup chime.

Anybody have a link to this? Also its only 1 ram stick not all of them right?

Try running your computer with 1 ram stick at a time. That should help pin-point the ram stick.

Thing is in system profiler the right amount of ram shows up and the siren only happens every few hours so it would take a while to figure it out.
