earth, for now.
hey everyone -

Initially when the iOS 11.4 beta 3 jailbeeak came out with Electra, I was successful in jail breaking. Cydia worked flawlessly.

I installed a couple of tweaks and really enjoyed using the new features after a few years of not being jailbroken.

Shortly after, i restarted (not respring) - and then cydia wouldn’t load or open. Same with the tweaks.

I had to restore completely and start fresh.

I jaikbroke again and everything worked well for several days.

Last night - I purchased a HomePod and set it up.

When I woke up I had noticed my phone was presenting me the beta update popup, to which I discovered cydia and my tweaks failed to open again; they would crash upon launching back to the home screen.

Is the Electra jail real semi tethered?

Now that apple is no longer signing iOS 11.4b3, I am reaching out to see what options I may have to regain access to cydia.

Thanks!

Every jailbreak since iOS 9.2 is semi-untethered.

That means, unless you have a 64-bit phone and have installed Cydia Extender when installing the JB app, you have to resign the app and reinstall it every seven days.

If you've gone longer than seven days and then restarted you need to resign and reinstall the app.

For the most recent jailbreak it was mentioned that there is some sort of developer install on a website somewhere where this allows you to not have to sign for a year (this is pretty much what Cydia Extender is doing).

If you've been gone for a few years then this resigning stuff is probably what tripped you up.

If you view your problems in light of that it may become clear to you what's happened.

PS. I believe the current jailbreak is good up to iOS 11.4 beta3.
