strange screen behavior on 5k imac

Hi I have got a new 5K imac and see some strange behavior on resolution..
I have a wm ware image with windows 7 installed...and when i "swipe" from a macOS screen to the vm ware win7 screen the screen resolution in the image gets reset to 5120x2088...

And if I set a better resolution that I can read without a telescope..it works until I swipe to macOS which always look ok..but then when I swipe to the image again the resolution falls back to telescope mode..5120x2088...

Now this is really annoying so does anyone know how to fix this??
