I received the following text message on my iPhone 6 S plus, would anyone know what this means?

Thank-you

浥獳慧攠⁴漠ㄵㄴ㠸㔹〰㤠獵捣敥摥搮

浥 獳 the bright 攠 ⁴ desert ㄵ ㄴ 㠸 㔹 〰 㤠 hunts for pounds 敥 摥 搮
or
Yiruhuimi ⁴ desert ㄵ ㄴ 㠸 㔹 〰 㤠 Liedaoyantang Li
Pretty random stuff there, and likely that's all it is, just some random characters.

What does it mean?
It might mean that you have encountered some kind of malware.
Download and run Malwarebytes. See if anything is detected.

You got lots of Chinese friends?
Hi, None that text me, this came from an English speaking friend.

Hi, I can't locate MAlwarebytes for iPhone, would you have a link?

Oops, ****, missed the iPhone completely. My fault, ignore my post, you won't need to check for malware, but maybe you should ask your (pranking?) friend.

Your friend's security might have been compromised, thus enabling the ability to send SMS spam from his account to you (and if so, likely to others).

The easiest thing to do would be to ask your friend if he has noticed any unusual activity on his various devices or in any interactions with those he frequently contacts.

Thank-you for your support it is sincerely appreciated.
Happy New Year

Lots of students in China have finished their exams and as good as on holiday for Spring Festival. Various expat websites in China get bombarded with spam. Might be a case of clever idle hands having some fun.

Google this situation. It has been happening a lot lately. From my research nothing can be done. My wife's iPhone started sending this to someone with a dumb phone. But has since been resolved without her doing anything.
