Can you use Apple TV to stream your Cable TV to your Macbook Pro?

I'd like to be able to watch TV in other rooms. I know my samsung TV has DLNA or something like that that makes it possible with other Tablets. Not sure if Apple TV will allow me to do this though.

No. If you really want to watch/stream cable TV to your MBP, you should look at something like Slingbox or the Hauppauge Broadway. Alternatively, you could get a HD tuner like EyeTV or HDHomeRun, except that you wouldn't get all of your channels (unless you subscribe to limited basic only).

The DNLA capabilities that your Samsung TV has is most likely only for viewing content. You'll need a DNLA server to deliver the content to DNLA clients. I would guess that TVs and Tablets with DNLA capabilities are clients only.
