Hi
I'm sure this has been asked before but I cant find it now. I have an LG tv with netcast and a wifi dongle. When I go to view my movies it seems to be recognising some folders on my mac mini (I have shared my itunes folders but it is either finding an old folder or it is not recognising a lot of content)

I can scroll through various folders (which are certainly from my mac mini) but when I go to movies it says no files.

Do I need to use the bundled software with the TV (something somewhere I read said it was rubbish and just to share folders on the mac).

Its frustrating as it clearly is making some sort of connection to my mac but something isnt right to let me play movies (it also doent find any music files or photos.....)

am I missing something obvious?

are these videos you purchased from iTunes? then they have DRM on them, and probably won't be able to be played back, normally you can only play them on an apple device.

try browsing to a music folder, something you ripped yourself, see if those show up.

if they are videos from other sources, check in the manual, there is a chart that specifies what kinds of files are supported.

Try dumping to a USB stick, and sticking that into the TV.

this is what one LG manual says are supported file formats for USB.
MPG, MPEG, DAT, TS, TRP, TP, VOB, MP4, MOV, MKV, DivX, AVI, ASF, WMV, M4V

Hi
I have never purchased from itunes but my movies are in a variety of formats (I normally use VLC player to avoid converting)
