Hey guys, I just bought a new MBP! I also have a desktop setup with some nice Bose speakers in my room. I was wondering if it is possible to stream the music to my desktop, while working at my laptop across the room, so I can listen to my music on my speakers wirelessly. I also have an airport extreme set up, not an express. The only catch is that I want to be able to control the music on my laptop not my desktop. Thanks!
If both the desktop and the laptop run Leopard, you could just share the laptop's iTunes library and use Screen Sharing to connect to the desktop and control iTunes remotely (this should be possible with any other kind of VNC software as well, but with Leopard it just works out-of-the-box).
For a slightly more sophisticated solution, you might want to have a look at Airfoil, which allows you to send audio to other computers.
