When i try to watch the keynote i my main user i get -5408 in QT, if i create a new user i works perfectly with the same settings.
I have tried to change the settings in all possible ways, deleted preferences.plist, firewall settings are ok.
What could be the problem?

iBook G4 10.4.4 QT 7.0.4

Well, many users have had problems with the 7.0.4 update but if you had the same in 7.0.3 but no problems in your other user account then maybe it is something else, as you say. Have you got any add ons installed (like Flip4Mac or DivX and so on)?

Yes, have F4M, but i had the problems before it was installed. I also found something called DivX 6 Decoder.component, not sure what this is...

I'd compare this account with the other one (the one that works) to see what's different as a start. It could well be the DivX codec which, from memory doesn't have an uninstaller but simply dragging it to the trash may suffice. Nevertheless, match it up with the working account. :)

That worked!! Thrashed the DivX Component and all is fine. Been trying to get this to work for months, and it was this easy....great!

Thanks..

Hmmm, after restarting my computer everything is back to "normal", QT again refuses to play keynote in my main user, but works if i create a new one...
What happened?

Is the DivX file back? Maybe do a search for DivX and place all the files in the Trash. That way, the OS can't access them so they're effectively not there but you can still put them back where you found them if this doesn't help and keep the ability to play DivX files in QuickTime. :)

Ok, this is very strange.... When i try the keynote at work with a ethernet cable it works fine, when i try it at home wireless, the keynote will not work in my main user but works if i create a new one.
How is this possible??

Did you end up reverting back to an earlier version of QuickTime? The latest version (7.0.4) is being pretty temperamental, it could be reacting funnily with either Flip4Mac or the rest of your DivX installation.

This didnt work either, makes me think that QT is not the problem here, the stream worked in my other user with 7.0.1 and 7.0.3.
What else could be worth checking out??

Have you used Spotlight to get rid of all the DivX components? :)

All are removed, but it still doesnt work im my main user when im connected wireless, only with an ethernet connection.
I find this very strange since the network settings should be the same for this two accounts, when i change settings in my main user (admin) they also change in the other user.
But since QT plays stream with an ethernet connection it makes me think that it isnt QT theres something wrong with.
