Hi, just a quick question. I'm thinking about getting AppleTV, but with the lack of any updates to Hard Drive sizes, I think I'd quickly use up storage space. I know that to stream content from a Mac, it has to be switched on in order to stream. I was wondering if I had a Time Capsule, would the Mac still need to be switched on in order to stream the content?

Thanks for any help.

Regards,
Simon

Yes ... All my iTunes content lives on a 1TB External drive. The computer would still have to be on with iTunes open since ATV communicates with iTunes.

If you don't want to bother with streaming or synchronizing via iTunes, you could also just attach an external USB drive to your ATv. That is what I am using and it works perfectly.

Is this a hack? I didn't think external USB drives worked with ATV unless you installed a hack...
