Streaming From PC to Atv itunes question

Is it possible to stream from itunes on your pc to your apple tv? I know you can convert your files to apples codec from .avi's, but is it possible for the apple tv to stream from a local pc?

Yes, if the files are in an Apple TV and iTunes compatible format.

Thus only .mov or .mp4 formats are supported and codecs like H264. You can use MPEG Streamclip o even Handbrake to convert your .avi files to an Apple TV and iTunes compatible format.
