I've been using my AppleTV for close to 2 months now with little problem. A few minor issues have come up before but nothing this bad.

Yesterday I was able to watch 2-3 movies in a row streamed from my library and they started within a few seconds of clicking them. Now when I click a title it takes a little while for the start from beginning and resume menu to pop up. And then longer to show the timeline after I picked my choice. The bar shows 0:00 at the beginning and 0:00 at the end. After about a minute the ending time will change to the length of the movie. But the blue loading bar will still be absent. Only after about 3-4 minutes of waiting will the blue bar SLOWLY start to build.

I tested this same thing with music videos and the time it takes to load one was close to 30 minutes.

Music starts instantly and this is streamed as well. I have no idea what I can do. I've restarted the AppleTV, synced multiple times, even restored the device to its factory state and nothing has changed.

Ok now music is bad too, it constantly skips and can't stream faster than the song.

This was never an issue before.... So frustrating

I had my first streaming issue today. Shared Library wasn't even available. I had to go restart iTunes and it's back now. Not sure if it's an update issue or a computer issue.

TV programs also not streaming.

I am having the same problem with TV programs - it is even deleting many that have been on the AppleTV for ages. It has deleted about 30gb from the AppleTV so far. I am sure it is only since the last update -(2.0.2).

reboot it

When your computer starts acting funny, the first thing to do is reboot it. The same with AppleTV. Hold down the Play and "-" keys on the remote for 5-6 seconds, I think this reboots it. Make sure you don't select the option for erasing the drive when the reboot dialog comes up.

This fixed some bizarre slowdowns on my AppleTV.

EDIT: oops, I see that you have tried rebooting. Are you connected to the network wirelessly? Try a wired ethernet connection. Do you have the same problems when you are not streaming (e.g. playing content that is stored on the device?)

Me and a roommate both have AppleTVs ones in my room other is part of the entertainment center.

Both of us share eachother libraries. I can play all of his content just like usual. I pick a movie or tv show and it loads right up, but mine hangs and takes forever to start. If he tries to play my content on his the same issue happens. There is some type of problem with iTunes and my computer that not allowing the content to transfer.

I've restarted my computer, itunes, and tried new IP addresses. Not sure what else to do. I can play movies, music on my computer like normal.

Ok I've tried running ethernet to the AppleTV from the router and no difference was made.

List of things tried:
Restart itunes
Restart computer
Restart AppleTV
Factory Reset AppleTV
Relink iTunes Library
Open Firewall
Open itunes ports on the router
Change router channel
Reinstall itunes
Use a different user account
Verify and Repair disk permissions (suggested on apple's troubleshooting forum)

2 Apple TVs in the house, 2 Computers - Friend's library works on both Apple TVs. My Library shows all the content but will not stream or sync on either AppleTV
