Streaming music

Hi,

are there any apps that will stream music from my network rather than me having to download them first (like Goodreader)? I searched the app store but could not find anything. I wantto stream apple lossless for example.

Ok but that means having a pc pr mac always on. I was thinking more of a network storage device like I might have on a network drive.

I thought maybe an itunes server but don't know if this is supported on touch devices as there is no itunes app as such.

UPDATE : Found plugplayer which works, presumably as I have upnp media server running.

Not sure, I use twonkymedia. There is an app called Chorus (or Chorus DS) but I think it is quite pricey, maybe contact the developer first to check.

You might want to checkout Filebrowser. I can stream music and video from my DNS-323 NAS...

I recently setup a media server that uses an iTunes compatible database in Freenas, I also use my XBMCs at home and in the studio to stream my music via the internet, however, I am wondering what the legal stance is on this, I have paid for my entire music library but I am wondering about legal issues on streaming it to my devices such as XBMCs and my iPhone.

Yesterday Engandget reported that the v1.2 update to MobileMe iDisk that Apple pushed out last month altered how the iDisk works and you can now play mp3 files directly from the application in the background. There's a few news articles asking about the legality of this, so I'm viewing it as a bit of a grey area at the moment. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Obviously this is only iOS 4 but it's the concept that we're talking about here.
