Hello all,

Brand new here. I bought my sorta-tech-competent grandpa ATV3 for his birthday, thinking it would be a fun toy for him. Him and grandma like watching streaming videos online from back home in Hungary. Usually it's Duna TV or Magyar TV. He has an old off-lease PC I bought him on the cheap. I found out all about clicktoplugin and mediacenter extensions for PC Safari, and thought, wow - finally he can just chuck files straight onto ATV from his PC, easy as pie!

Yeah, of course not. :(

It turns out that all of these sites which he uses don't have quicktime or Flash or something. They run WMV files, and clicktoplugin can't throw this to airplay. I can run splashtop on my Ipad and route the PC screen to ATV, but that's not a longterm solution for him.

I also tried Air Parrot. It worked when I tried the demo from my laptop at my apartment, but when I tried mirroring it here, on his desktop or my laptop, there's no sound. I'm just using the trial version, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

TLDR version: How do I get streaming WMV to go from PC to ATV? I'll try just about anything!

Thanks in advance. :)

I'd say mountain lion, but it's out of the question probably.

Yeah, buying a new computer/idevice is really not a viable alternative to the situation. Right now I'm using air parrot for the video, and cranking up the PC speakers. It probably bothers me more than them, but I want it to work properly! Not to mention the ridiculous amount of lag in mirroring the entire desktop screen. :(
