While waiting for multi-tasking this Fall, I keep looking for the best solution to streaming Internet radio stations now. I played with running Live365 in Safari (not the app which requires the paid VIP membership), but it seems to be kind of flakey.

My current solution is the free Tunemark app. It has full access to Shoutcast plus you can add custom stations. I've added WFUV, WUNC and WCPE and they all play fine. You can then have the app relaunch whatever stream you are listening to in Safari, so you can listen to it in the background.

Has anyone else come up with any other solutions?
 
There is an for a public radio station in LA- KCRW - that allows background streaming while using safari. In case you don't know about them, they have an eclectic bent and some awesome programs. You can listen live or on demand. 99c app for the iphone which I already had.

Listening to Garth Trinidad's show from last night as I type this...
